Puppet Master: Axis Termination’ receives another major update as Tonya Kay joins the cast. The 11th installment in the ever spawning franchise that followed the storyline of a litter of puppets out for blood will return with series helmer Charles Band returning in his director’s chair once again.
Kay joins the cast with two other films already under her belt, previously starring in Earthtastrophe and Amityville Terror. The Axis conclusion (this will be the last Axis centric film in the Puppet Master franchise), which is described as “the bloodiest/goriest entry in the [Puppet Master] series is said to follow the story of the infamous heroic killer puppets [Blade, Pinhead, Tunneler, Jester, Six Shooter and Leech Woman] as they join forces with a secret team of Allied Operatives, all equipped with psychic abilities, as they face off against “a new bunch of Nazis adversities and their collection of vicious Axis puppets in a showdown that will decide the future for the free world”.
Returning with the film will be the two leads from the 10th installment, Puppet Master: Axis Rising. George Appleby and Jessica Morris have been confirmed to be the two returning. As previously stated, Kay joins the cast, starring alongside Paul Logan, Tania Fox and Kevin Scott Allen. Diana Prince and Pablo Guisa Koestinger have been confirmed to be part in the film as well.
A series of SET pics have been released for the flick one of which one of which pays homage to A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: Dream Master.
From the press release:
“the film will feature a very ambitious 2- to 3-month FX schedule with several amazing FX teams involved, using a combination of many types of effective, including rod puppetry, animatronics, and some stop-motion animation!….This is a very complicated script, and I’m super grateful to the writers who’ve found clever ways of including our contributors who purchased on-screen appearances and “killed by Blade” parts in this movie. They’re all flying out here, many of them on set now. We’ll capture some of this madness on video and post in the weeks to come. Again, thanks for helping us make this movie!”
Next up in this ever outrageous franchise comes Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, being written by S. Craig Zahler of Bone Tomahawk fame. Band acts as executive producer for the flick which is said to follow the story of “a recently divorced young man who discovers a mint condition Blade doll in his deceased brother’s closet and plans to sell the toy at a convention in Oregon celebrating the 30th anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders. All hell breaks loose at the Postville Lodge during the auction when a strange force animates all of the various puppets throughout the convention as they go on a bloody killing spree.”. The sequel stands as a reboot but doesn’t have a director as of yet. The sequel also stands as the second film in the franchise to not be made by Fullmoon pictures. Di Bonaventura Pictures and Caliber Media are partnering up to develop this film rather than Fullmoon with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Dallas Sonnier, and Jack Heller producing.
‘Puppet Master Axis Termination is anticipated for a 2017 release as filming has already begun.
