During the Ryan Murphy and Friends panel at PopFest on Sunday, moderator Tim Stack asked Ryan Murphy about his recent comment about American Horror Story revisiting their third season, ‘Coven’.

Murphy was asked if the return would be in the form of a sequel, prequel or something all together different. As it turns out, Murphy already has a plan.

We do what we’re going to do. It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a crossover between Murder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre.” Murphy responded. The audience cheered and Murphy continued. “There will be characters from Murder House and characters from Coven together.”

‘Murder House’ was the first season of ‘American Horror Story’. It followed a family looking for a new start. They unwittingly purchase a haunted mansion filled with homicidal ghosts. ‘Coven’, the third season, is a fan favorite. The season followed a group of witches in New Orleans as they competed to find out who next Supreme would be. We witnessed the current Supreme (Jessica Lang) struggle to retain her power and youth.

Jessica Lang’s return to AHS has been rumored. She starred in both ‘Coven’ and ‘Murder House’, maybe we will see her again in the crossover season. It sounds as if season 7 is already in development, meaning that season 8 may be when we return to ‘Coven’.

The current season, ‘Roanoke’ centers on a couple who have purchased a home on haunted land. The lost colony of Roanoke haunt the land where they sacrificed people. For one week a year, under the red moon, the ghosts take their form and can harm whoever is on their land or in the home.
