‘The Predator’ has found its cinematographer, Larry Fong, according to SlashFilm. Fong’s most recent project is the upcoming mega monster film ‘Kong: Skull Island‘, which will arrive in theaters on March 10, 2017. ‘Watchman’, ‘Sucker Punch’, ‘Super 8’ and ‘300’ are also on his resume.

We last updated you on Shane Black’s ‘The Predator‘ back in October. The film is now taking shape and the cast is list is steadily growing. The most recent star to sign on for the film is actress Olivia Munn. Munn is known for her roles in the ‘The Wedding Ringer’, ‘Dredd’ and ‘Juno’. Munn, who will be playing a scientist, joins Boyd Holbrook (Narcos), and musician-actor 50 Cent.

‘The Predator’ is more of a sequel than a reboot Black has explained. It, “…has to stand on its own two feet, but our goal is to make sure it acknowledges that, yeah, it is 30 years later in the continuity of the story. In other words, Dutch Schaefer’s patrol, which was attacked and largely slaughtered, happened 30 years ago in the context of the story. It’s referenced, it’s part of the mythology. In that way, it’s more of a sequel than a reboot.

Shane Black, who starred in the original film, will be directing from the script penned by Fred Dekker. The original 1987 film’s producers John Davis, Lawrence Gordon and John Davis will produce the new film as well. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for a while before we see it, Fox has set the theatrical release date for February 9th, of 2018.
