From 1998 to 2006 ‘Charmed’ was one of the hottest series on television. The series, which followed a group of sisters, who happened to be witches, through their daily lives, romances, and battles to keep the innocent safe from dark forces.
Back in March we reported that Alyssa Milano, an original ‘Charmed’ cast member, told social media that a reboot of the show was in the works. Confirmation came today that a new “reimagined” version of the show we loved so much is indeed in development at The CW.
There’s more, the revamped “Charmed” will not be set in the present day, instead it will take place in 1976, with a ‘Stranger Things’ feel, according to EW.
Jessica O’Toole, Jennie Snyder, and Amy Rardin will pen the series. The trio already works as a team on The CW’s ‘Jane the Virgin’.
‘Charmed’ has yet to begin casting at this point, but we will keep you posted.
The original cast of ‘Charmed’ included Milano, Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowan, Shannen Doherty, Brian Krause, and Julian McMahon.
