The highly anticipated return of Twin Peaks’ just received yet another returning cast member: During a teaser released by SHOWTIME just recently, Kyle MacLachlan, a.k.a FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, has been unveiled to be returning for the network’s Twin Peaks’ revival. Upon MacLachlan’s casting he now joins fellow returning cast members Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Mädchen Amick, David Duchovny, Michael Horse, Dana Ashbrook, Miguel Ferrer, Ray Wise, Grace Zabriskie, Peggy Lipton, Everett McGill and David Lynch.

Helmed by Peaks’ original creators Lynch and Mark Frost, the revival is set to pick up twenty-five years after the citizens of Twin Peaks were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered.

Additionally set to star in the resurrected whodunnit is said to be Amanda Seyfried, Naomi Watts, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern, Ernie Hudson, Michael Cera, Trent Reznor, Jessica Szohr, Jane Levy, Richard Chamberlain, Robert Knepper, Jim Belushi, Tom Sizemore, Ethan Suplee, Balthazar Getty, Bailey Chase, David Koechner, and Larry Clarke.

The cult series, returning after a 20+ year hiatus since its 1990-91 run on ABC, has been set to debut a two-part premiere, [part in a 18-part limited event series], scheduled to air May 21st, 9 p.m ET/PT. Following the next week, the third and fourth parts will air back to back on the linear network, followed by one-hour parts in subsequent weeks at 9 p.m. ET/PT. BUT: if you’re a SHOWTIME subscriber you’ll have access to the third and fourth parts exclusively across the SHOWTIME streaming service, SHOWTIME ANYTIME and SHOWTIME ON DEMAND immediately after the show’s premiere.

Don’t hold your breathe though for anymore episodes: David Lynch at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, brushed up upon whether or not Twin Peaks would continue after the 18-part event “…I said I wasn’t to revisit it, and I did. So you never say no. But right now, there’s no plans for anything more”

Still. Don’t hold your breathe, but hey that was a pretty wishy-washy answer, maybe we’ll see more of Twin Peaks’ after the event. Stay tuned as we hear more.
