For years the ‘Saw’ franchise churned out film after film up to the release of ‘Saw 3D: The Final Chapter’ in 2010. It’s been 6 years since we’ve seen a new ‘Saw’, but that’s about to change. The franchise’s eighth film, ‘Saw: Legacy’, will soon begin production.
News has come, via Variety, that the first two cast member have been announced. ‘Bitten’ actress Laura Vandervoort and Hannah Anderson of ‘Shoot the Messenger’ are set to “play a little game”. It is rumored that Jigsaw himself, Tobin Bell’ will be returning for the film, which hasn’t released its synopsis yet.
The team of Michael and Peter Spierig will be directing from the script they co-wrote with Pete Goldfinger, based on the story created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. Mark Burg, Oren Koules, and Gregg Hoffman will be returning to produce.
Be ready to “play a little game” this Fall when ‘Saw: Legacy’ arrives in theaters in theaters on October 27.
