Valentine’s Day, the day when we celebrate love. Why not celebrate the day with horror films dedicated to the subject? Cuddle up with your sweetheart, or pet, or your popcorn, and settle in for a love themed horror movie marathon.
My Bloody Valentine (1981)
My Bloody Valentine is the ultimate horror film set on Valentine’s Day. On V’Day the legend of a killer who targets those celebrating the holiday, comes to life. Nothing says “love” like a miner with a pick axe.

The Bride of Chucky (1998)
Chucky and Tiffany are one of my favorite horror couples. Their love never dies. Remember, the family that slays together stays together.

My Bloody Valentine  3D (2009)
This film is one of the few reboots that is just as enjoyable as the original. Tom (Jesnsen Ackles) returns home on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine’s Day massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. Instead of a warm welcome he is accused of the murders. His ex girlfriend seems to be the only one who thinks that he is innocent.

Valentine (2001)
Four friends receive morbid Valentine’s Day cards and realize that someone is stalking them. Someone the group spurned years ago is ready to take their revenge.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)
Centuries after Vlad The Impaler discovered that his love had committed suicide after receiving the false news of his death, he is speaking with a land broker, Johnathan, about a new purchase. When Dracula sees a photo of Jonathan’s fiancee, Mina, and realizes that his lost love has been reincarnated. Dracula sets out to win the heart of Mina so that they may live together for eternity. Johnathan, with the help of Professor Abraham Van Helsing, is determined to stop Dracula and save Mina before she becomes a vampire herself.
If any horror film captures true love for the ages, it’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

My Boyfriend’s Back (1993)
Johnny, your typical teenage boy is in love, but he’s scared to tell Missy how he feels. Johnny gets killed trying to protect Missy during a robbery at the store where she works, but Johnny doesn’t stay dead. He’s back, as a walking, talking zombie as if nothing ever happened. Will love prevail?

Horns (2015)
I was immediately drawn into the tragic love story of a young woman, Merrin, who was murdered and a town convinced that her boyfriend “Ig” is her killer. Iggy, played by Daniel Radcliffe , is hell bent on finding the identity of her killer and bringing them to justice. After a drunken night Ig wakes up to find horns sprouting from his head. The strange horns have unique powers. Everyone who faces Ig must confess to him their darkest truths and cannot help but follow Ig’s commands. Read my review of Horns for more information.

Burying The Ex (2014)
Max is ready to break up with overbearing girlfriend, Evelyn. On his way to dump her, Evelyn is hit by a car and killed. After a little time passes, Max meets and falls for Olivia, but he’s about to have the shock of his life. Evelyn is back from the dead, as a zombie. Burying the Ex is a fun, gore filled film that I strongly recommend seeing and Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to watch it.

Warm Bodies (2013)
A unique zombie saves a still-living girl from attack. The two form a unique relationship and the closer they become the more alive he grows. This unique film poses the question can love cure the zombie infection (insert eye roll)?

Pride & Prejudice & Zombies (2016)
Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is a movie that has something for everyone, love, gore, zombies, and strong women. When I say strong women, I mean women who are not only strong emotionally, they could literally kick your ass. It’s a great spin on the original story.

The Love Witch (2016)
The Love Witch is a unique film that looks as if it was filmed in the 60’s. A witch, obsessed with love, uses magic to make men fall in love with her. But when it comes to magic, things don’t always go as planned.
