Jeepers Creepers 3‘ has now begun filming to the delight of some genre fans, while others have sworn not to see the film. The reason, writer-director Victor Salva’s infamous past. In fact his past caused the film to hit a snags recently. The Creeper isn’t the only monster involved in the ‘Jeepers Creepers’ franchise.
Many fans are not aware of the controversy that surrounds Victor Salva, the creator of the ‘Jeepers Creepers’ franchise.  For those of you who have no idea what he has done, let me fill you in.
Salva was convicted of oral copulation, producing child pornography and lewd and lascivious conduct with a 12-year-old boy in 1988. At the time the victim starred in Salva’s first feature film, ‘Clownhouse’. Salva was sentenced to a three-year term and was released after only fifteen-months. After Salva’s conviction and release as a child molester, he went on to direct several films, including: ‘Powder’ and the ‘Jeepers Creepers’ franchise.

How Salva has been able to continue in the film industry is beyond me. There is currently a petition to urge theaters not to show ‘Jeepers Creepers 3’. The petition, created by Mark Zoradi, Amy Miles and S. David Passman, has 214 signatures (at the time this was written). The goal is 500 signatures. If you want to sign the petition you can do so HERE.

Jeepers Creepers 3 is currently in production. The director and creator of this franchise, Victor Salva, used his position to rape a 12 year old boy in 1988 during the filming of the movie Clownhouse. He was convicted and served a measly 15 months in prison. As the three largest movie theater chains in the US, I urge you to not show this movie at your theaters. The profits from Jeepers Creepers 3 line the pockets of a pedophile. Monsters belong on the screen, not behind the camera.  I also urge other members of the horror movie community to take a stance. Spread the word and don’t watch this film!

There has long been a problem below the surface of Hollywood of people turning a blind eye to abuse. That needs to end now. Just because someone is a director, producer, agent, or anything else in the film industry does not make them above the law or common ethics, at least it shouldn’t. There are many actors and actresses who have spoken up about the abuses they have suffered and it’s heart breaking.  I don’t care how much money these abusive people that take advantage of their positions bring in, it’s wrong.
In ‘Jeepers Creepers 3‘, Trish Jenner (Gina Philips) is now a mother of a teenage son named Darry, named after the brother she lost 23 years ago. Trish has a recurring nightmare where her son suffers the same fate as her brother did, killed by the Creeper. Determined to prevent this from happening, Trish, who is now a rich and powerful woman, sets out on a final quest with Jack Taggart Sr. (Ray Wise) and Jr. to end the Creeper’s reign of terror once and for all. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins.
Gina Philips returns as Trish.  Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog) will be playing ‘Gaylen Brandon’. Stan Shaw (The Monster Squad) will co-star as ‘Sheriff Tashtego’. Chester Rushing (Stranger Things), Ryan Moore (Pitchfork), Brandon Smith (From Dusk Till Dawn), Justin Hall (Django Unchained), and Gabrille Haugh (Mother, May I Sleep With Danger) will co-star along with Megan Elizabeth Wright. Jonathan Breck will be back as the ‘Creeper’.

Editor’s Note: It is not our place to tell you what to do when it comes to either signing the petition or seeing the film. We felt the need to make the situation known to you so that you can make up your own mind. The hidden world of abuse in Hollywood needs to be discussed and ended.
