‘Godzilla: King of Monsters‘ will soon begin filming in Atlanta, Georgia under the direction of Michael Dougherty. ‘Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown was the first cast member to be announced, followed by Kyle Chandler who will play the father of Brown’s character and scientist.
Today, THR reported that Vera Farmiga has signed on to co-star. Farmiga, most recognized for her role as Lorraine Warren in ‘The Conjuring‘ franchise, recently co-stared as Norma Bates in the hit television series ‘Bates Motel’ which is currently airing its final season.
Back in 2015 Legendary and Warner Bros announced a partnership in which Legendary would develop the films with Warner Bros. distributing. The first film born of the partnership was ‘Kong: Skull Island‘ which opens in theaters nationwide on March 10, 2017. The reason for the arrangement, Legendary plans a new “ecosystem’ of giant monsters, old and new.
‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’ is set to start filming in Atlanta, Georgia on June 19, 2017 and is scheduled to open in theaters nationwide on March 22, 2019. It will be followed by ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ in theaters on May 29, 2020.
