Universal Hooks A Writer For The Creature From The Black Lagoon Reboot

 

 
With The Mummy approaching its theatrical release, Universal is moving forward with the next addition to their new shared monster universe.
Deadline has revealed that Universal has hooked a writer for The Creature From the Black Lagoon.  Aquaman scriptwriter Will Beall will pen the reboot/remake of the 1954 classic that starred Richard Carlson and Julie Adams.
 

 
Chris Morgan and Alex Kurtzman, who are heading monster universe project, will produce The Creature From the Black Lagoon.
The Mummy, arriving in theaters on June 9, 2017, will be the first of the classic Universal monster movie series that will include The Invisible Man, The Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, and others.
In the original film, a strange prehistoric beast lurks in the depths of the Amazonian jungle. A group of scientists try to capture the animal and bring it back to civilization for study.
