Quickly, a romance blooms and it feels like a dream come true, until you wake up to realize that you are actually trapped in a nightmare. Cate Shortland’s thriller Berlin Syndrome centers on a young woman in that exact situation.
Recently screened at Sundance in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition, this thriller stars Lights Out actress Teresa Palmer as a young woman caught up in a passionate holiday romance that takes “an unexpected and sinister turn when the Australian photographer wakes up one morning in a Berlin apartment” and realizes that she is trapped.
