Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled the full trailer for Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982, and it is incredible.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario), the film picks up “thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what is left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
Villeneuv will be directing off of the script penned by Michael Green and the original Blade Runner scribe Hampton Fancher. Ridley Scott serves as Execute Producer for this futuristic film.
Jared Leto plays the role of the film’s antagonist, co-staring alongside Ana de Armas, Dave Bautista, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, David Dastmalchian, Edward James Olmos, and Lennie James of The Walking Dead.
The trailer is dark, elegant, and filled with intensity. IT is stunning. I expect the film will be too. Blade Runner 2049 will open in theaters nationwide on October 6, 2017 form Warner Bros.
