We first reported Hulu’s upcoming series Castle Rock from Master of Horror Stephen King and brilliant director J. J. Abrams back in February. Today, we have casting news.
Moonlight’s André Holland has been cast as the lead and will play a death row attorney with a complicated history, in the series set in King’s multiverse in a fictional town in King’s beloved Maine. Not only did Holland star in the Moonlight, which took home an Oscar for Best Picture, he also appeared in the Cinemax series The Knick, and as co-stared as Matt Miller in American Horror Story: Roanoke.

Dustin Thomason and Sam Shaw developed Castle Rock, set to begin filming later this year, based on characters created by King. They also will serve as executive producers along with Ben Stephenson, Liz Glotzer, and J. J. Abrams. The series is from Warner Bros. and Bad Robot.
