Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Glenn Close has signed for her second role in the zombie genre. Close starred in last year’s buzzed about film The Girl with All the Gifts. Now, Close has joined the cast of Amazon’s upcoming half-hour dark comedy series Sea Oak, penned by George Saunders.
The series centers on Close’s character, who is an unmarried, childless woman living in Rust Belt City. After she is killed in a home invasion, she returns from the grave, “…full of rage and determined to get the life she never had. She proceeds to inflict a range of demands on what’s left of her nuclear family, including a quasi-stripper nephew and two feckless nieces, who live in a low-end subsidized hellhole of a housing complex called Sea Oak.”
