One of my favorite genre franchises revolves around Chucky, star of the Child’s Play films and Bride of Chucky which was followed by Seed of Chucky and Curse of Chucky. Now, the little red-headed possessed doll is back in Cult of Chucky.
When we first met Chucky back in 1988, he stalked Andy, a young boy. Andy was played by none other than Alex Vincent, who also starred in Child’s Play 2 and 3. Vincent made his return to the franchise in Curse of Chucky and co-stars in the upcoming sequel Cult of Chucky. We got the chance to ask him a few questions about the franchise and more.

Horror Fuel: “What was it like to be a child actor on the set of Child’s Play?”
Vincent: “Working on the child’s play films as a child was a lot of fun! I got to leave school for a few months and go to LA to work on a film with a super cool electronic puppet. Any kid would be thrilled for an experience like that.”
Horror Fuel: “I bet that was a great experience.”

Horror Fuel: “Did the movie affect you in real life? Did it give you nightmares?”
Vincent: “Nothing about shooting the films were scary or gave me nightmares. It’s much different being on set than watching the finished product.”
Horror Fuel: “You were a tough kid.”

Horror Fuel: “What were you doing while taking a break from acting?”

Vincent: “I stopped auditioning around 12 years old, because I had gotten very tired of the process and wanted to live a more normal life. That’s what I’ve been doing (for the most part).”
Horror Fuel: “It’s great that you did get a chance to be a regular kid.”
Horror Fuel: “How did it feel to face-off against Chucky again on the set of Cult of Chucky?”
Vincent: “Being back in the franchise and on set for Cult of Chucky was surreal and exciting. It’s a fun and interesting thing to bring life back into a character that I haven’t played since I was 8! Both Curse and Cult have been wonderful experiences.”
Horror  Fuel: “We can’t wait to see it. I love that little red-head doll.”
Horror Fuel: “What has your character Andy been doing all these years?”
Vincent: “Cult of chucky will give a glimpse into where Andy’s life has gone, and what some of the challenges are for someone who barely survived Chucky and his childhood. The entire experience filming the new movie was fun.”
Horror Fuel: “What was your favorite moment from Cult of Chucky?”
Vincent: “I can’t go into detail on my favorite scene to shoot just yet.”
Horror Fuel: “I get it. Maybe after the movie is released you can fill us in.”
Horror Fuel: “How would you describe Cult of Chucky to the fans that are eager to see it?”
Vincent: “Cult of Chucky brings the tension and suspense of the original Child’s Play films into a confined and sometimes perplexing environment. We are all hoping everyone enjoys the film!”
Horror Fuel: “I’m sure they will.”
Horror Fuel: “You also have roles in two other films coming out this year, Descending and The Dark Military.”
Vincent: “My roles in the other films I’ve done in the past year were all small roles, but were fun to play… And also good experiences.”
Horror Fuel: ” “You opened a recording studio. If you will, tell us about it. “
Vincent: “I’ve always been passionate about music, and earned a degree in recording arts from Full Sail University. Opening my own recording studio was always a dream of mine and I am very proud of the work we have done so far. We have worked with over 100 artists and have been involved in some great projects. Horror Fuel: “That sounds awesome!”
Fans can see Alex Vincent go head-to-head with Chucky October 3, 2017 when Cult of Chuck opens in theaters. For more on Vincent follow him on Twitter and visit the website for his studio.
In Cult of Chucky, written and directed by the franchise’s creator Don Mancini, Nica, played by Fiona Dourif, has been confined to a asylum for the criminally insane and is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky (Brad Dourif), murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic “tool” to facilitate his patients’ group sessions — an all-too-familiar “Good Guy” doll with an innocently smiling face — a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn’t crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child’s Play, races to Nica’s aid. But to save her he’ll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved possessed doll.
