Ryan Murphy and Sarah Paulson, who have worked together many times in the past of projects like ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘American Crime Story’, are teaming up again for ‘Ratched’, a Netflix original series set in 1947 about the evolution of the vicious nurse played by Louise Fletcher in the 1974 classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
In One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Nurse Ratched was a cold, heartless tyrant. Her character was used as a metaphor for how power can corrupt in environments such as hospitals and mental institutions. The role won Fletcher an Oscar.
Netflix has already given the green light for two seasons of ‘Ratched’ which is set to go into production in 2018 with the pilot penned by Evan Romansky. Murphy and Michael Douglas will be serving as executive producers with Paulson producing.
