Last month we reported that Jamie Lee Curtis will be returning to the Halloween franchise to reprise her role of Laurie Strode. Today, more casting news comes via Deadline.

According to their report, Judy Greer (Jurassic World) has entered negotiations to play a key role, that of Laurie Strode’s daughter, Karen Strode.

In the new film, “Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.”
It sounds as if the film, directed by David Gordon Green, will act as if every film of the franchise beyond the original Halloween 2 never existed.
Green co-wrote the “reinvention” with Danny McBride. John Carpenter will provide the score as well as act as executive producer. Both Green and McBride will serve as executive producers along with Carpenter. Malek Akkad of Trancas and Jason Blum of Blumhouse will be producing.
Michael Myers will stalk theaters nationwide in time for next Halloween, on October 19, 2018.
