Greeting’s my Little Monsters, it’s lovely of you to come around yet again. October is finally her and that means it’s time for all the creepy and macabre trappings of the Halloween season. Of course one thing I diligently prepare each year is my Halloween horror movie watch-list. In the past it has consisted of whatever genre films I had in my own collection, but now it can be extended to the offerings of various streaming services. One such service, VUDU, has begun offering some titles to stream for free right alongside those you would normally pay to rent.
Now since the site had recently been under maintenance, I was unable to bring you all my weekly installment of Woman(In Horror) Crush Wednesday. So my way of making it up to you is to tell you about one particular free offering that VUDU is making this month, which features everyone’s beloved Mistress of the Dark, ELVIRA!
Nope, this is no trick, my Little Monsters. VUDU is treating it’s users to Elvira’s 13 Nights of Horror or 13 Nights of Elvira, as it was called when it originally aired on Hulu leading up to Halloween of 2014. In true Elvira style, not only does she play hostess for each of the films she presents, but also throws out her trademark quips throughout each movie. The list of films includes: Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death, Demonic Toys, Dollman, Evil Bong, The Gingerdead Man, Hideous!, Hobgoblins, Oblivion, Seed People, Shrunken Heads, Trancers and the George Romero 1968 original, Night of the Living Dead.
Also, while you’re checking this out, be sure to have a look-see at the Horror& Sci-fi section of their “Movies On Us”. Because VUDU is offering up some other classics from the genre. They’ve got Return of the Living dead, From Beyond, Troll, Night of the Demons, Dark Night of the Scarecrow, The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1977), Sleepaway Camp, Night of the Demons (1988), The Burning and many, many more.
So my Little monsters, if you’re looking to expand your roster of movies to watch over the Halloween season, seriously consider checking out the some of the free offerings available now over at VUDU.
