Gareth Edwards, the director behind both The Raid and its sequel will be directing the upcoming cult thriller Apostle and we have a first look and plot details to share with you.
Dan Stevens (The Guest) stars as a man trying to save his sister, played by Lucy Boynton (Murder on the Orient Express) from a cult. Michael Sheen, Bill Millner, and Kristine Froseth co-star.
During a conversation with Collider, Boynton discussed her character who is the daughter of a cult leader.

It’s slightly more story heavy than The Raid films,” she explained. “It’s about a cult and a guy goes to rescue his sister from the cult and I play the cult leader’s daughter who slightly starts to realize the darkness of all that her fathers cult entails.”

In the film, set in 1905, Thomas Richardson (Stevens) travels to a remote island to rescue his sister after she’s kidnapped by a mysterious religious cult who is demanding a ransom for her safe return. It soon becomes clear that the cult will regret the day it baited this man, as he digs deeper and deeper into the secrets and lies upon which the commune is built.
Apostle will premiere on Netflix in 2018.
