Things have been quiet for a while now since we had any news for Children of the Corn: Runaway, directed by John Gulager (Feast), up till now.
Recently, actress Marci Miller, who plays Ruth in the film, revealed via Instagram that Runaway is “coming soon” after being questioned about the film by a fan. Miller replied that we can expect to see the next installment of the Children of the Corn franchise sometime between February and March of next year.
Written by Joel Soisson, the film centers on a young woman named Ruth, who finds herself pregnant after escaping a murderous child cult in a small Midwestern town. Ruth struggles for the next decade living anonymously in an attempt to spare her son the horrors of her childhood.
Miller co-stars alongside JR Hatchett, Lynn Andrews III, Gavin Taylor, Blaine Maye, Jake Ryan Scott, Molly Nikki Anderson, Lorrie Chilcoat, and Mary Kathryn Bryant.
Dimension Films has yet to confirm a release date, but we’ve got our fingers crossed for a Spring theatrical opening.
