What do you get when you mix action star Dolph Lundgren and zombies? You get Dead Trigger.
This sci-fi horror film from directors Mike Cuff and Scott Windhauser was written by Heinz Treschnitzer, based on the first-person shooter mobile game of the same name from Madfinger Games.
The film, set in Terminal City in 2025, follows a mysterious virus that has killed billions and turned many others into bloodthirsty zombies. Unable to stop the virus, the government develops a video game, “Dead Trigger,” that mirrors the terrifying events that curse the world. The players who kill the most zombies in the game are recruited to combat the zombie horde in real life.
The elite team led by Captain Kyle Walker (Lundgren) travels to Terminal City, the origin of the outbreak, to find a team of scientists who have been working on a possible cure for the virus. The only way to get to them, however, is to go through a city full of terrifying undead mutants…
Lundgren stars alongside Autumn Reeser and Isaiah Washington. Bleona, Derek Boone, Tamara Braun, James Chalke, Justin Chon, and Alyona Chekhova co-star.
Dead Trigger has already debuted in theaters overseas. The U.S. release date should be announced soon.
