A month-long cosplay competition has been announced that will coincide with Wizard World Comic Con in New Orleans through the new ‘8Secondz’ app, judged by users.
Walking Dead’ star Katelyn Nacon, who plays the role of Enid on the hit series, will judge the acting portion of the competition open to anyone 13 or older. She will mentor two winners with a face-to-face coaching/mentoring session.

The new App, available on iTunes, revolutionizes user-created online video with monthly competitions and unique 8-second format.

From the Press Release:

Sydney, NSW, Australia – The new 8secondz app available on iTunes will host a global in-app Cosplay competition, it was announced today, the same day Wizard World Comic Con opens in New Orleans. All costumed Wizard World attendees are invited to participate in 8secondz’ “Cosplay Dress the Part” competition.

8secondz offers an entirely new take on the world of online video presentation, one in which world-class mentors judge the best in class and reward heroes with one-on-one coaching sessions. And it all happens in videos that are just 8 seconds in length!

Entering the “Cosplay Dress the Part” competition is easy:
1. Download the free 8secondz app on iTunes.
2. Make an 8-second video of yourself (or have a friend do it) dressing up and acting out as your favorite comic book, cartoon, gaming or fantasy character.

In addition, “The Walking Dead” star Katelyn Nacon has signed on to judge the month-long acting competition taking place throughout January at 8secondz — the revolutionary new app available at iTunes — that showcases the skills of teens and young adults in competitions judged by world-class experts, many of whom provide mentoring to winners in each category. Katelyn will judge 8-second videos of competitors acting a favorite scene from a movie or TV show and will provide private coaching sessions to each of the two heroes (winners) selected as the best (via Skype, Google Hangouts, or phone).
“In 8 seconds show me your acting skills by recreating a TV or movie scene,” said Katelyn, encouraging fans everywhere to enter the competition for an opportunity to win a mentoring session with her.

Entering the “Start Acting Up” competition is easy as 1-2-3:

In 2015, Katelyn released her first EP “Love in May,” on which she performs five songs that she wrote.

The “Cosplay Dress the Part” and “Start Acting Up” competitions close at 6:59 pm (AEST) 30 January, 2018/8:59 pm (EDT) on January 31, 2018.
