The upcoming throwback slasher flick Slatter Camp is heading to Friday the 13th’s Camp Crystal Lake, sort of.
Every film in the Friday the 13th franchise may be tied to the same camp but in reality, they were all filmed in different locations. Jason Lives was actually filmed at Georgia’s Camp Daniel Morgan, 30 years later a new film is headed to the camp.
Brandon Tobatto’s Splatter Camp is currently running a campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds for his homage to 80’s slashers filmed at Camp Daniel Morgan.
“Splatter Camp is a full-length feature film that tells the story of a group of young filmmakers who, while filming a documentary at the long since closed CAMP CANDY, discover that the legend of SCARY LARRY may be more than just fiction when a string of murders start picking them off, one-by-one.
Things only worsen for the survivors when distrust begins to tear them apart, for how could Scary Larry be real? Is this killer the authentic package? Could it actually be the groundskeeper? Or, has the so-called masked madman been residing among the members of the group all along, posing as one of the helpless survivors?”
Tobatto is hoping to raise $10,000 to make Splatter Camp, but he assures that the primarily self-funded film will be made and released in Summer of 2019, no matter how much money the campaign raises. The campaign is mainly there in hopes of making the film bigger and better.
If you want to chip in please visit the Kickstarter page, which offers perks like stickers, mugs, Shirts, autographed goodies, and a thank you in the movie credits. Follow the film on Facebook for regular updates and more.
