In recent years a new kind of video game genre is making its mark on gamers, Battle Royal style gaming. These games are a free for all survival either being played solo or in teams. The most notable games of this genre are H1Z1, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), and the more recent popular game Fortnite: Battle Royal. With the popularity of these games, many of which originally did not have a battle royal style features till they became a DLC that eventually turned into stand-alone titles.

A new popular game has entered this territory, Dying Light, the first-person zombie survival game where players use parkour skills along with makeshift weaponry to survive in the urban jungle infested with zombies. The game’s developers announced a new update/game mode coming to the game, Dying Light: Bad Blood a battle royal style game pitting players against one another and zombies.

Six players are dropped into the fictional city of Harran (where the game takes place) and must collect samples from different zombie mutations before time runs out and a helicopter comes and takes only one player who has the proper amount of samples out of the city. Players can fight each other or the undead that stalks the streets. No news on a release date as of yet but if you’re fast enough you can register here and start playing the Alpha.
