One of horror’s most talented writers, Leigh Whannell, the man behind films like Saw, and the Insidious franchise (which he also starred in), both wrote and directed the upcoming film Upgrade. The bloody Red Band trailer has just been unleashed.
The film “centers on Grey Trace, a technophobe in a utopian near-future when computers control nearly everything – from cars to crime-surveillance – who is paralyzed in a freak mugging.  But when a billionaire technologist offers him an experimental paralysis cure – an implanted computer chip called STEM – Grey finds that the chip has a voice and a mind of its own.”
Logan Marshall Green (Prometheus) stars alongside Betty Gabriel (Get Out), Harrison Gilbertson (Hounds of Love), Simon Maiden (The Dressmaker) and Benedict Hardie (Hacksaw Ridge).
Producers include Jason Blum of Blumhouse, Kylie du Fresne, Goalpost Pictures, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones,  and Automatik Entertainment. Executive producers include Charles Layton, Rosemary Blight, and Ben Grant.
Upgrade is set to be released on June 1, 2018, from BH Tilt.
