Swedish metal band GHOST revealed through videos on their youtube channel the arrival of the new frontman taking over for Papa Emeritus III, Cardinal Copia. The Cardinal is nothing like his three predecessors according to Papa Nil, all came from the same pure bloodline but Cardinal Copia only got the position because of he’s Nil’s right-hand man and has a good work ethic as he was the employee of the month many times. The Cardinal along with the three past front men Papa Emeritus (I, II, III) are all portrayed by Tobias Forge.

As of right now, it’s unknown if Cardinal Copia will don the skull make up the past frontmen were known for but he has the signature black eye makeup (under a latex mask) and the white eye contact lens in the left eye. Copia’s appearance resembles that of Vincent Price with the pencil thin mustache.

The change in appearance has extended to the band members themselves, the Nameless Ghouls who are still sporting the same horned masks but this time they’re metallic in color and mouth and chin parts are open allowing them to sing backing vocals which they’ve never done before until it was witnessed at a private acoustic performance on April 6th (also the Cardinal’s first public appearance with the group)

The band, in the last 24 hours, have also debuted their new single and music video, “Rats” from their fourth studio album Prequelle which is set to be released June 1st of this year. Warning about the music video, as it’s said in the comment section and from my own personal experience, you may not be impressed with the sound at first but after listening to it again and again, you can’t get it out of your head or stop listening!
