The haunting film The Turning has just revealed that it will be opening in theaters in February.
In the film, a young woman hired as the nanny to two orphans is convinced that the country mansion they live in is haunted.

Talented young actor Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, IT) stars in the paranormal thriller as an orphan. In the first picture from the film, we see Wolfhard and co-star Brooklyn Prince.

The adaption of The Turning of the Screw by Henry James is directed by Floria Sigismondi and centers on a caretaker who is hired to look after two orphaned children at their family’s isolated estate. Upon the caretaker’s arrival, the young woman finds that the children are not quite what they seem and that she might be losing them to evil spirits with a secret tie to their past.

Mackenzie Davis and Niall Greig Fulton co-star in the film written by Chad and Carey Hayes.
Sigismondi has quite an impressive resume that includes the hit series “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “Daredevil”, and many music videos from artist such as David Bowie, Pink, The White Stripes, and Marilyn Manson.
In the 1898 story that was originally printed in Collier’s Weekly, a young governess has been hired to look after and teach a young brother and sister who live in a sprawling gothic mansion. Soon the governess begins to see two spirits who she believes are after the children. By the end of the tale readers and critics were left wondering if the spirits existed or if it was all in the governess’ head.
Universal Pictures is set to release Amblin’s The Turning in theaters on February 22, 2019.
