The Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch‘s remake of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary has dug up a new release date.
Over the last few months, we have learned a bit about the remake, including that two of the lead roles have been cast. Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) is set to play the main character Louis Creed, originally played by Dale Midkiff (interview). Celebrated actor John Lithgow will play Louis’ neighbor and friend Jud Crandall played by Fred Gwynne in the first film.
The film was originally set to premiere on April 1, 2019, but the release has been slightly moved up to April 5, 2019.
There is no word yet who else will star in the film. The key to the film’s success will be who is cast as Gage Creed. It’s going to be hard to beat the amazing and creepy role played by young Miko Hughes.
