Casting has begun for AMC’s upcoming series adaptation on Joe Hill’s “NOS4A2”. Today we’ve learned via Deadline that YouTube star Jahkara Smith (aka Sailor J) has been cast as Maggie Leigh, a recurring role in the supernatural horror series. Maggie is a bubbly, purple-haired librarian with a Scrabble Bag portal to the universe.
“NOS4A2” centers on Vic McQueen, a young, working-class artist who discovers she has a supernatural ability to track Charlie Manx, who appears to be an immortal. Manx feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – a twisted Christmas Village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic must find a way to defeat Manx and rescue his victims – without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself.
AMC Studios is producing in association with Michael Eisner’s Tornante Television. The series was created by Jami O’Brien (Fear the Walking Dead) who will also serve as showrunner for the series set to premiere in 2019. Hill will executive produce alongside O’Brien and Toernante Television’s co-president Lauren Corrao.
