As Yeon Sang-ho works on the sequel to 2016’s international hit Train to Busan, work has begun on the English-language remake. Deadline is reporting that horror heavy-hitter James Wan (The Conjuring franchise) has come on board to produce the remake written by Gary Dauberman (IT, The Nun).
New Line went up against Paramount, Lionsgate, and Screen Gems and has won the bidding war for the rights to the movie.
The South Korean original follows a group of passengers aboard a train who are fighting to survive a zombie outbreak while traveling from Seoul to Busan.
At this time no director has been announced, but we’ll let you know when we learn more. In the meantime, check out the English trailer for the original which was loved by genre fans.
