DC’s upcoming “Swamp Things” series continues to announce new cast members. Variety is reporting that the latest addition is “Taken” actress Jennifer Beals who also starred in “The L Word”, Book of Eli, and The Grudge 2.
Beals’ character  Sheriff Lucilia Cable has been described as “tough as nails” with a fierce devotion to her son Matt and has sworn to protect the town of Marais, a community beset by strange forces.
She joins Crystal Reed and Maria Sten. We reported back in September that Derek Mears (Friday the 13th, Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead) has been announced as the title character.
James Wan is producing the “R” rated series based on the DC comic created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. “Ash vs. Evil Dead” writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman are penning “Swamp Thing“. Underworld director Lin Wiseman will direct the pilot episode. Verheiden and Dauberman are executive producing along with Atomic Monster’s James Wan and Michael Clear. Rob Hackett serves as co-producer.
