The long-awaited sequel to Zombieland is finally picking up speed. A few days ago we reported that Zoey Deutch has joined the cast which includes returning stars Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin.
Today, we have more casting news, “Ghost Wars” and “Twisted” actor Avan Jogia has joined Zombieland 2. Jogia will be playing the role of Berkeley, a bad boy musician, the kind of guy you would dread your daughter dating, Deadline reports.
This time around, the mayhem stretches across the country with our favorite zombie slayers facing new kinds of zombies that have evolved since we last saw the group. They will also have to deal with other survivors and growing pains within their little family.
Ruben Fleischer is back in the director’s chair for the sequel written by the original film’s scribes, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who will also be executive producing. Gavin Polone will once again be producing.
Filming is set to start early next year. Zombieland 2 will open in theaters on October 11, 2019.
