New has come that A24’s The Hole in the Ground will arrive on DIRECTV just after its World Premiere at Sundance next month, ahead of its theatrical release this March.
From director Lee Cronin, who co-wrote the film with Stephen Shields, The Hole in the Ground is said to be in the vein of The Babadook and is filled with terror, suspense, and “tackles the primal fears of motherhood.”
In the film, “Sarah and her young son Chris move to a new home in the Irish countryside, next to a forest that hides an enormous sinkhole. One night, Chris vanishes, and when he reappears he seems unharmed and unchanged. But, as his behavior grows increasingly disturbing, Sarah begins to fear that the boy who has returned may not be her son at all.”
Seána Kerslake (A Date For Mad Mary) stars along with James Cosmo, Kati Outinen, and James Quinn Markey.
The Hole in the Ground arrives on DIRECTTV on January 31, 2019, and opens in limited theaters on March 1, 2019.
