After years of rumors and false starts, the sequel to World War Z is officially dead in the water.
David Fincher‘s WWZ 2, was set to begin production later year and film in Thailand, Spain, and Atlanta, Georgia, but has now officially been canceled according to The Playlist, likely due to budget concerns. It had been stated that the sequel would have had a smaller budget than the original which cost over $200 million to make, but evidently was still too costly to make.
Brad Pitt would have reunited with Fincher for the movie. The two has previously worked on several films together including Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
