The Jurassic franchise is one of the largest franchise to have ever graced the silver screen. The last film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom brought in over $1.3 billion at the box office alone. Now fans are eagerly awaiting the third and final film of Jurassic World. The good news, there is a premiere date. The bad news, it’s more than two years away. But with the number of special effects the film requires, it’s not a huge surprise that we will have to wait. Plus, I’m sure that star Chris Pratt has his hands full with his commitment to MCU.

As for plot details, we know very little about the sequel. So what do we know? We know that Colin Trevorrow will be back in the director’s chair. We also know that both Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be reprising their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing. We were introduced to young Maise (Isabella Sermon) who was created by her grandfather  in Fallen Kingdom. It would be odd not to see that story continue so hopefully we’ll learn more about little Maise. Word is Jeff Goldblum will also be returning to his iconic role as Dr. Ian Malcolm. And we’re keeping our fingers crossed that that is the case.

In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom a bunch of dinos escaped out into the world. So I’m sure we will see the effect of those dinos on the world. While many were herbivores like the Triceratopses, and the head butting Compsognathus that broke Owen and Claire out of their cell,  there were also several carnivores that escaped, including a T-Rex and Owen’s raptor Blue which will definitely cause some issues. Let’s not forget about the gigantic aquatic Mosasaurus that is loose in the ocean and stalking surfers in the final moment of the movie. That thing could swallow small boats and countless people.

Director Trevorrow had this to say about Jurassic World 3:

If I could contextualize each film, I would say Jurassic World was an action adventure, Fallen Kingdom is kind of a horror-suspense film, and Jurassic World 3 will be a science thriller, in the same way, Jurassic Park Was.

Jurassic World 3 is said to be opening in theaters on June 11, 2021. Here’s a look back at Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
