Fans of the Critters franchise are getting a double dose of the fuzz balls in 2019. Not only is Shudder’s series “Critters: A New Binge” now streaming, a new movie is headed your way! The title for the movie has just been announced as Critters Attack! Filming in South Africa, the film is from Syfy.

Last we heard, Bobby Miller (The Cleanse) is directing and the guys behind several of the Tremors sequels, Adam Friedlander and Armand Leo, are producing.

Exhibitor Relations has now announced via Twitter that Critters Attack! has been rated R for “bloody creature violence.”

The original 1986 film, directed by Stephen Herek, starred Dee Wallace, M. Emmet Walsh, Billy Green Bush, and Scott Grimes. In the movie, a group of small, furry aliens makes lunch out of the locals in a small town. Critters went on to spawn three sequels, with the last being released in 1992.
