The first official image is here from Alexandre Aja’s (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) creature/disaster film Crawl in which Kaya Scodelario has to fight to survive a natural disaster and one of natures deadliest creatures, alligators.

Scodelario plays a young woman who, while struggling to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped inside a flooding house and fighting for her life against Florida’s most savage and feared predators.

Barry Pepper, Ross Anderson, and Anson Boon are co-starring in the movie that is part creature feature, part horror, and part disaster movie. The first footage was screened at CinemaCon with viewers calling it “bloody and chaotic.”

Produced by Sam Raimi‘s Ghost House Pictures, Crawl opens in theaters on July 12th.
