The “Swamp Thing” series is heading to the DC Universe streaming service later this month. Today, we’ve got a new teaser that introduces Alec Holland, played by Andy Bean, who becomes Swamp Thing. Bean also stars in the IT: Chapter Two.
“Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.”
The James Wan produced series also stars Derek Mears who plays the role of Swamp Thing, Crystal Reed, Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Will Patton, Kevin Durand, Ian Ziering, Henderson Wade, Maria Sten, and Jeryl Prescott also star.
Directors of the show, inspired by the comic by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, include E.L. Katz and Len Wiseman. “Swamp Thing” is written by Mark Verheiden (Ash vs Evil Dead) and Gary Dauberman (IT).
