The rumor mill has been going in overtime since Bruce Campbell teased earlier this week that more of the Evil Dead franchise was on its way. Today, we finally know what he was teasing, a new immersive Evil Dead video game! And no, we’re not talking about Dead by Daylight.

Last year we interviewed Campbell after retiring from his character Ash Williams, the star of the franchise, and he teased that he was working on a few things he couldn’t go into detail about yet. But he was crystal clear about one thing, Ash is retired.

During a recent chat with TV Insider, he talked a little about the new game.

We’ll see more Evil Dead, that’s for sure. There is an Evil Dead video game out,” Campbell told the site. “A fully immersive video game probably within a year. I’m not sure about the day. There will be variations of that. There won’t be the original Ash anymore. That guy is done.

Campbell voiced Ash for multiple Evil Dead video games including Evil Dead: Hail to the King, Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick and Evil Dead: Regeneration. Hopefully, more about the new game will be announced soon.

Currently, Campbell is also working on another project, he is now serving as the host of Travel Channel’s revival of “Ripley’s Believe It or Not“!
