Before the end of its first season, USA announced that it had renewed “The Purge” TV series. Now, the first set of new cast members has been revealed by Deadline.
Derek Luke (13 Reasons Why), Max Martini (Pacific Rim), Paola Nuñez (The Son), and Joel Allen (Never Goin’ Back) are the first series regulars announced for Season 2.
Luke will play the role of Marcus Moore, an accomplished professional with a loving wife and a beautiful home whose seemingly perfect life is shattered when an assassin breaks into his house on Purge night.
Martini has been cast as Ryan Grant. Unassuming yet laser-focused, Ryan spent his year preparing for a massive once-a-year Purge heist with his long-time crew.
Nuñez will co-star as Esme Carmona, a top employee at an NFFA surveillance center. Esme has dedicated her life to spotting crimes and digitally tagging lawbreakers.
Allen plays Ben, a clean-cut, fraternity member from a middle-class suburban family, whose life changes forever when he goes out on Purge night for the first time.
James DeMonaco, who created the franchise, serves as executive producer for the series.
The Purge franchise will also add a new sequel, The Purge 5, to its roster next year.
