The next installment of the Saw franchise has begun filming and is being teased by director Darren Lynn Bousman as insane and bloody.

Bousman, who is also behind Saw II, III and IV, along with producers James Wan and Leigh Whannell have teamed up with award-winning funny man Chris Rock to expand the Saw universe. Jigsaw screenwriters Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg penned the script based on an idea by Rock.
There is still no word if Tobin Bell, who has served as the franchise’s villain Jigsaw, will return for the movie which is set to open in theaters on October 23, 2020.
