James Wan is returning to his horror roots for his next project, a secret genre film, before diving into Aquaman 2, Variety reports.

The plot is still being kept under wraps at this point, but we do know that Wan co-wrote the film along with The Nun‘s Ingrid Bisu, who he recently got engaged to. Wan will also be producing under his Atomic Monster banner along with Michael Clear.

Wan’s plan is to direct and shoot the film this fall in Los Angeles before moving into pre-production on Aquaman 2.

Wan cut his teeth on the Saw and Insidious franchise before bringing The Conjuring Universe, a franchise that has grossed over $1.8 billion.
