Back in July, director Darren Bousman announced via Instagram that production for Saw was officially underway. Bousman has now returned to social media stating that the ninth Saw has wrapped production. The news came via Twitter with a post featuring Bousman in front of a blood-splattered wall with the caption “That’s a wrap.”

The new installment of the killer franchise comes from a story by Chris Rock, who co-stars alongside Samuel L. Jackson. Rock plays a police detective investigating a series of grizzly crimes. Jackson plays the role of Rock’s father. Max Minghella co-stars as Rock’s partner, with Marisol Nichols playing Captain Angie Garza, Rock’s boss.
Marl Burg and Oren Kohls return to produce Pete Goldfinger and Jigsaw’s Josh Stolberg penned the film which is executive produced by Rock, Daniel Heffner, and the original creators of the franchise, James Wan and Leigh Whannell.
Saw opens in theaters on May 15, 2020.
