“Supernatural” Star Is The New “Walker, Texas Ranger”

With “Supernatural‘s” final season approaching fans may be wondering where they will see their favorite SPN stars next. Well, it turns out one cast member is moving to a new series.

 

Jared Padalecki, recognized as Sam Winchester on the hit series, will be the star of CBS’ upcoming “Walker, Texas Ranger” series reboot which is currently in development. Padalecki will be playing the role originally played by Chuck Norris.

 

According to Variety, the series centers on Walker as he returns from being undercover for years. A widower, and father of two, he begins fighting crime with his new partner, the only female Ranger in history.

 

Anna Fricke is attached to both write and serves as executive producer for the new show. Fricke, who has an overall deal with CBS Studios, is recognized for her series “Being Human,” “Wayward Pines,” and “Valor.”

 

Padalecki will also executive produce along with Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore of Rideback, and Dan Spilo.

 

“Walker, Texas Ranger” made its debut back in 1993 and ran through 2001. Chuck Norris and Clearance Gilyard Jr. played the roles of badass Texas Rangers who made it their mission to stomp out crime around the lone star state.
