Tyler Perry and former Lionsgate exec Tim Palen joined to create the newly formed production company Peachtree & Vine. The company has now teamed up with Sanjay Sharma’s Marginal Mediaworks to produce their first feature film, Whitney (working title), Deadline reports.

The film, a psychological thriller, is about the “power of memory and monuments in the Deep South.”

Paramount Players has landed the film which Palen and Sharma will produce with Perry acting as executive producer. Matt Dines will oversee the project.

We loved this story right from the pitch,” said Perry and Palen in a joint statement. “It’s culturally relevant, smart and very provocative – all qualities we look for in the projects we want to partner on.”

Tyler Perry, who created the infamous character Madea, and already has 51 titles to his credit, began construction in 2015 on the studio that sits on a 330-acre lot located in the heart of Atlanta on part of the historic grounds of the former Fort McPherson army base.

We’ll update you when we know more about the film.
