“The Witcher” Has Been Renewed For Season Two!

Netflix’s new fantasy series “The Witcher,” based on the best-selling book and gaming series, is a binge-worthy hit amongst viewers and the streaming giant knows it, they have already renewed the series for season two. The news comes just three days after its premiere.

Henry “Superman” Cavill stars as the title character, The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, a badass monster slayer with a sense of honor. Centering on The Witcher as well as two other main characters, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), a witch with a rough start and a hunger for power, and Ciri (Freya Allen) a young princess who was forced to flee her homeland.

The eight-episode second season is set to begin production in London in early 2020 with its premiere planned for 2021 with Cavill, Chalotra, and Allen all returning.

I’m so thrilled that before fans have seen our first season, we are able to confirm that we’ll be returning to The Continent again to continue telling the story of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri,” Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich stated.

If you haven’t seen “The Witcher” yet, this critic urges you to do so right now! In fact, I can tell you that even though our “Best of 2019” lists will not be published until next week, the series has made it onto our “Best Shows of 2019” list.
