From visionary director Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House) comes a new frightening twist on a beloved tale that follows a young girl and her little brother as they venture into the dark woods in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.
The film also stars Alice Krige as the Witch and introduces Sammy Leakey as Hansel.
Gretel & Hansel was written by Rob Hayes (Netflix’s “Chewing Gum”) and produced by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, Upgrade) and Fred Berger (La La Land, Destroyer) on behalf of Automatik. Sandra Yee Ling and Macdara Kelleher executive produced.
Gretel & Hansel debuts in theaters on January 31, 2020, from Orion Pictures.
