A new horror film is being hailed as the “scariest ghost story in years” following its debut at Sundance. Titled The Night House, the film is from director David Bruckner, the same filmmaker behind 2018’s hit horror film The Ritual (review).

Starring Rebecca Hall (Godzilla vs. Kong), Stacy Martin (High-Rise), and Sarah Goldberg (The Dark Knight Rises), the story follows a woman haunted by her deceased husband in the home he built for her. It’s said to have the feel of 1970’s horror with a hint of Ari Aster’s Hereditary.

The Night House was written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski and has been acquired by Searchlight Pictures. No theatrical or home release date has been announced at this point. But we’ll keep you posted.
