Today, director Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) announced via Twitter that production has begun of Jurassic World 3. If you look closely at the slate in the image you will notice the name of the movie has been revealed as Jurassic World: Dominion.
Dominion is a nod to the biblical passage about God giving man dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26). The previous film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, directed by J.A. Bayona, ends with dinosaurs being released into the modern world so the question is, will the dinosaurs rule the earth again?
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning. Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern will be reprising their roles from the 1993 classic Jurassic Park.
Trevorrow is in the director’s chair for Dominion which he also co-wrote with Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising), based on the story by Derek Connolly. Trevorrow is executive producing along with Steven Spielberg. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are producing.
Jurassic World: Dominion comes alive in theaters on June 21, 2021.
