After years of rumors and Disney Plus is gifting us with Hocus Pocus 2! The sequel to the 1993 Halloween classic has conjured a director, Adam Shankman. The sequel is scripted by “Workaholics” writer-producer Jen D’Angelo, Variety reports.
Hocus Pocus 2 will follow Shankman’s Disenchanted, the sequel to Enchanted, which is currently in pre-production. So while there is no word on when Hocus Pocus 2 will begin production.
At the moment none of the Hocus Pocus cast members are attached, but Disney has high hopes that they will be involved in part 2.
The original film, directed by Kenny Ortega, followed three sister witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy) who cast a spell in 1693 and are awakened by a teen boy in the 20th century. He, his sister and a friend fight to survive Halloween and save the town with the help of a talking cat.
